FemCon13 Unites Bloggers, Brings Value to Attendees

For weeks prior to the big announcement of the first-ever Femworking Blogger and Small Business Conference, we wondered what the response would be from the local blogging and business community.

We have put an incredible amount of time and energy into organizing and planning the conference logistics, from the speakers to the meal choices to the website navigation. With every decision we ask ourselves, “Will this bring our attendees value?”

We hoped people would not only see the value, but register and attend. On August 15, with butterflies in our stomach, we sent out our news release, opened registration and crossed our fingers.

What we discovered is that people ARE seeing the value. More than that, the Femworking Blogger and Small Business Conference is uniting groups. The Virginia Bloggers Club, for instance, has been buzzing about the event. They are planning to wear buttons or order tote bags to show their solidarity.

They are even writing blog posts and helping to spread the word – not because we have asked them to do it, but because they understand that an event like this is not only a long-time coming, but is well deserved. The Washington DC area SHOULD host a conference of this kind.

We will update the Conference Blog regularly to share all our exciting news. Every day we are adding sponsors, business partners and speakers. Every day we are adding value to the attendees. So make sure to sign-up for our Conference Newsletter (on sidebar).

Thank you for helping to spread the word and don’t forget to take advantage of the Early Bird Special of $99 (ends September 5). You can register here.

We are happy to share all blog posts written about the conference, so make sure to tweet them to @Femworking. Here are the two written from members of the Virginia Bloggers Club:
